Fix Auto UK is launching nine apprentices in The Fix Auto UK 2021 Apprentice Program Powered by Sherwin-Williams® through its Automotive Finishes Division, which is sponsored by the global coatings partner for the first time, according to the company. These apprentices will receive their full support as part of the network’s drive to introduce new talent into the vehicle repair industry.
The Fix Auto UK 2021 Apprentices, or Future Fixers as they will be affectionately known, will be provided with all of their workwear, computer tablets as well as the relevant tools and equipment required as part of their apprenticeships. In addition to the in-house tuition that they will receive, each apprentice will work closely with Martin Willis, Fix Auto UK’s business development manager.
Under the program, apprentices will be working a number of Fix Auto locations and will be undergoing their studies at the EMTEC College in Nottingham.
“We are committed to developing future generations of technicians,” said Ian Pugh, Fix Auto UK managing director. “It has been well documented there is a shortage of skilled talent coming through and we have made it our priority to address that. The apprentices of today are the future for our industry. Thanks to our partnership with Sherwin-Williams®, our franchisee partners and the direct passion and drive from Martin, we are able to provide much needed equipment as well as importantly the time and energy in helping to nurture these first nine new talents.”
