Do these apply to you? Then you should be competing in the Delta Kits Windshield Repair Competition (WRO). This annual Auto Glass Week™ (AGW) event recognizes the top three technicians who perform the best windshield repair.
“There’s nothing like being in a competition. Anybody that has ever competed in sports or anything like that, this is exactly the same,” says Mackenzie Curbow of Novus Glass. “I was not anticipating the level of competition that there was [in 2019]. The entire competition from the replacement to the repair side is so well done, it’s so professional and you really feel like an athlete.” Mackenzie placed in two Auto Glass Week 2019 competitions, taking home the gold medal in the AGTO and bronze medal in WRO.
Competitors are judged in several areas including professional attire, greeting the client, technical behavior, preparation of the vehicle, proper use of tools and products, quality of the repair technique and appearance of the complete repair, post-repair and customer procedures, in-depth knowledge and ROLAGS® proficiency.
Winning prize packages are $5,000 for first place, $250 for second and $100 for third. Bragging rights? Priceless.
In addition to the above, registrants must have been employed as a technician in a bonafide automotive glass company within the last year and have at least one year of experience as a technician in the industry in order to compete.
