First-Time Attendees Take Note: These 3 Tips Can Improve the AGW Experience

Event planners know that the customer experience is the top priority. The Auto Glass Week™ (AGW) team is proud that, in post-event surveys, more than 87 percent of attendees say they would return the following year.

Value creation is key: attendance should prove an exceptional use of an individual’s and a company’s time and other resources. Attendance is also a way to grow the industry.

“Our industry will only be successful if we support and mentor our emerging leaders,” said AGW Managing Director Debra Levy. “That’s why we pay particular attention to our first-time attendees.”

The following are three ways newcomers (and all comers) can ensure a successful and enjoyable week:

1. Attend the Workshop for Newcomers, Wednesday, June 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you are fairly new to the industry and want to gain content geared directly to you, then this session is a must attend. In this judgement-free zone, you can ask questions that will help you advance your knowledge and career by learning from seasoned executives who will share their knowledge from successes and failures. Speakers: Keith Beveridge operates Beveridge Consulting which specializes in strategy development, marketing and operational review. He is a former senior vice president of Novus. Lyle Hill is president of Keytech North America and Glass.com®. Lyle has more than 50 years of experience in the glass and metal industry, including ownership of one of the country’s top ten glazing contractors. The session will be moderated by AGRR™ magazine publisher Debra Levy.

2. Participate in Social Events—All work and no play is not productive. What is productive is using this time to make lifelong connections that can potentially benefit you for years to come. Build your network of colleagues that you can go to for future advice.

3. Ask questions during sessions and complete the surveys. The more you participate, the greater the value. Open and honest feedback is the only way the team can continue to improve year after year.
