Auto Windscreens, a United Kingdom windscreen repair and replacement company, has reported a 145% increase in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibrations since 2019.
Auto Windscreens says it has completed the highest rate of ADAS calibrations ever, with 14% of replacements requiring calibration. That percentile is double the rate seen in early 2019, which was around 6%. 94% of applicable ADAS jobs have been handled in-house, compared to 62% when the company started undertaking the work in 2019. Its total completed calibrations have increased by 145% over two years.
“All our 65 service centers around the UK boast the latest equipment from Hella Gutmann for static calibrations and our mobile technicians are equipped with up-to-the-minute technology to undertake dynamic calibrations on the road,” says Tony Green, head of technical and training at Auto Windscreens.
Green says that extensive training is at the center of its success with ADAS calibrations.
“We’ve always been proud that our technicians are among the best trained in the world, undertaking specific courses and ADAS NVQ qualifications to ensure they’re aware of new innovations and developments,” Green says. “With the new European ruling which will require all new vehicles to include a number of ADAS features as standard from next year, and with the global ADAS market size expected to reach 118bn by 2027, the increase in demand is on an upward trajectory.”
