PGW Auto Glass Installs Transfer Fee

PGW Auto Glass LLC has notified auto glass shops that the company is implementing a transfer fee for products shipped to a customer’s primary branch from another branch location.

According to the email sent to customers, the fee is necessary following “unprecedented challenges” the industry and global economy are facing in regard to shipping and transportation disruptions, which impact supply chains and lengthen delivery time to customers.

Effective Sept. 24, 2021, United States customers will pay $15 per windshield, and $10 per tempered glass item. In Canada, customers will pay $20 per windshield and $15 per tempered glass item.

“PGW remains committed to increasing product availability and improving services,” according to the email.

This does not make any sense. If a company has a glass part at one of its branches, then ships it to its primary branch, how would PGW even know about it? Something is missing in this explanation.
