Kia Motors America Issues Voluntary Recall for Windshields

Kia Motors America has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it is recalling 30,362 vehicles for inadequate bonding of windshields.

Kia notified the NHTSA that the windshields of affected 2014-2016 Kia Cadenza vehicles can detach from the vehicle and create increased risk of crash or injury. Kia says the windshields may not have been bonded properly during the manufacturing process.

Kia says its dealers will inspect windshields, and, if necessary, remove windshields of affected models and reinstall the windshields with the proper bonding free of charge to owners.

Letters to owners are expected to be sent in May 2022. Kia customer service is available at 1-800-333-4542 with a recall number of SC232. NHTSA can be reached at 1-888-327-4236 and the recall number is 22V-158.
