Driven Brands Holdings has announced its acquisition of Florida-based K&K Glass. The development marks the fifth U.S. auto glass brand brought under Driven Brands, with former owner of K&K Dan Knowlton saying the acquisition will help the business and its employees reach their full potential.
“We were proud to kickstart our entry into the U.S. automotive glass market with the acquisition of Auto Glass Now,” says Michael Macaluso, executive vice president and paint, collision, and glass group president with Driven Brands. “Since then, we’ve added All Star Glass, A1 Auto Glass and Perfection Auto Glass, in addition to building new locations in North Carolina and Texas. We remain highly acquisitive in this segment as we look to support the needs of our customers in this extremely fragmented industry. It’s an exciting time to join our Driven Brands family and we are thrilled to now welcome K&K Glass.”
Driven Brands wrote in a news release that K&K Glass opened in 1994 with owner Dan Knowlton and his family growing the business to be a leading automotive glass retailer in Florida. K&K Glass has seven locations, more than 20 warehouses and more than 100 mobile vans.
“We have come a long way over the past 28 years, and it would not have been possible without the support of our community and outstanding team,” Knowlton says. “We are grateful that Driven Brands can continue our legacy and help both our employees and the business realize its full potential.”
The acquisition will be reported in Driven Brands’ Paint, Collision and Glass segment. Driven Brands first entered the glass business in Canada with the acquisition of Uniban Canada in 2019 and now has more than 350 locations across North America.
K&K Glass ranked number 6 in AGRR magazine’s 2021 list of Top Auto Glass Retailers with $25-$50 million in revenue. The company acquired Fastrite Auto Glass in January 2019 and Team Auto Glass in November of that year.
