Safelite Group, a vehicle glass services and recalibration company and owner of Safelite AutoGlass, acquired the assets of Seattle’s Genuine Auto Glass in a transaction that closed Friday, Oct. 7. This marks Safelite’s fifth major acquisition in 2022 alone.
“We’re pleased to welcome Genuine Auto Glass associates to the Safelite family,” says Renee Cacchillo, president and CEO of Safelite Group. “Over the last two decades, they have built a strong and impressive reputation for providing outstanding customer service. Their mission and values nicely align with ours, making this acquisition an excellent addition to our business.”
Genuine Auto Glass will leverage Safelite’s operational systems, advanced safety system recalibration knowledge, distribution network, purchasing power, and insurance and commercial relationships. According to Genuine’s website, the company has approximately seven locations, along with two mobile service operations and a customer service center in Washington.
“It’s an exciting time as we continue to expand our reach and provide the quality service our customers expect,” Cacchillo says. “We look forward to leveraging the skills our new team members bring and making them feel right at home.”
Safelite AutoGlass of Columbus, Ohio, is the largest auto glass repair and replacement business in the U.S. In addition to the most recent acquisition, Safelite acquired the auto glass assets of Binswanger’s Auto Glass Division in October 2022, Pro Tech Auto Glass at the end of August 2022, Henderson Glass in July 2022 and Frontier Glass in June 2022.
