Safelite Group Acquires Auto Glass Assets of Binswanger Auto Glass Division

Safelite Group, a vehicle glass services and recalibration company and owner of Safelite AutoGlass, has acquired the auto glass assets of Binswanger Glass headquartered in Memphis, Tenn., with operations throughout the Midwest and Southeastern U.S. The transaction was completed on Friday, September 30, 2022.

Binswanger Glass was the country’s first full-service retailer and installer of automotive, residential, and architectural glass and aluminum products. Binswanger has 50 company-owned locations in 12 states. According to the company, the majority of those locations offer auto glass services including windshield repair and replacement.

Safelite AutoGlass of Columbus, Ohio, is the largest auto glass repair and replacement business in the U.S. In addition to the most recent acquisition, Safelite acquired Pro Tech Auto Glass at the end of August 2022, Henderson Glass in July 2022 and Frontier Glass in June 2022.

    If I unfairly controlled 90% of the glass claims I would be buying up businesses too…..
