Auto Windscreens Records Busiest Days on Record and Highest Volumes in April

Tuesday, April 11 and Monday, April 17 were the busiest days on record for the United Kingdom’s Auto Windscreens, the company announced in a news release. Additionally, between April 3-14, Auto Windscreens experienced its highest volume of jobs per day.

“In the weeks leading up to half term, we were already seeing an 18.9% rise in job volumes, but the levels we saw over Easter were unprecedented,” said James MacBeth, managing director of Auto Windscreens. “An increase in traffic on the roads as more people took day trips and holidays is likely to be a contributing factor.”

According to the Department for Transport, on Thursday, April 6, traffic volumes were 101% of the levels during the first week of February 2020. Vehicle glass repair and replacements increased by more than a third during this period (33.4%), compared to last year, according to the announcement.

“I’m exceptionally proud of our whole team in ensuring this additional demand had no effect on our service levels,” MacBeth said. “We’re here to get people back on the road, and that’s just what we’ll continue to do, as we look forward to the next big getaway in the summer.”
