“I thought there should be a simple way for vehicle windows to self-adjust to the most appropriate tint level for eye protection and a full glare-free view of the roadway,” said an inventor from Woodbury, Tenn. “So I invented the Transitional Windshield. My design could help to prevent visibility-related accidents and it could make driving more enjoyable and comfortable.”

For this to be a truly viable answer, the transition technology will have to be more advanced than what we’ve all experienced with the introduction of “transition” lenses for our eye glasses. Aside from the steep price difference, can you imagine having to wait while your windshield transitions as you drive in and out of tunnels or parking garages?
