A Milwaukee man who told police he was speeding because he was late for work was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison for the hit-and-run crash that killed 71-year-old crossing guard Andrew Tyler last year.

It seems that almost everyone knows ICBC is losing money, a lot of money.
While drivers might imagine ICBC only uses their insurance premiums to pay for the actual cost of a part used in a repair or only pay for repairs that are required, that’s not the case. In more than half of windshield replacement claims, ICBC policy means ICBC pays more for a replacement windshield than the original manufacturer charged for the part. A startup called Nikola Motor Company recently filed a $2 billion lawsuit against Tesla for patent infringement. Nikola’s claims specifically allege that the Tesla Semi design infringes upon a number of their own patents which were granted years ago.

Take Rob Aubuchon who owns ABC Glass in Byron Center. He says he makes on average throughout the years, three roundtrips a day across M-6 to repair auto glass. That equates out to about 6,000 miles a year on that stretch of bad road.
