Making the Impossible Possible: AEGIS Tool Allows Single Tech Install Two-Man Sets

AEGIS Tools International has made it possible for the solo auto glass replacement technician to properly perform a two-man set windshield installation and company representatives introduced the system at the Independent Glass Association's (IGA) Spring Glass Show last week in Las Vegas.

The Solo™ kits, available in two models, allows one tech to install windshields alone on traditional two-tech jobs. Comprising a hardened steel rod to which a sliding bar and an extra set of suction cups are attached, the system works as the second person in the set, holding one side of the windshield as the technician positions the glass above the opening in the vehicle.

According to AEGIS, the Solo prevents strains, sprains and workers' compensation costs to the company as well as preventing damage to the vehicle and the glass due to mishandling during installations.
