Seven United Kingdom-based Auto Windscreens employees recently
participated in a "Fancy Drag Race," a 5-mile men-only
race that required its participants to don skirts, blouses and headsets
in support of a local charity.
The team raised nearly $300 for the May 23 event. The proceeds will
go to Ashgate Hospice, an independent registered charity that provides
specialist palliative care both in the hospice and community settings
for the people of North Derbyshire, England.
"We wanted to raise money for Ashgate Hospice and the opportunity
to have fun running in the Fancy Drag Race was too good to miss,"
says team captain Kieran Denny. "We all had loads of fun. However,
I wouldn't recommend wearing a pencil skirt to run in on the hottest
day of the year, though!"
