Two from Team Acme to Compete in AGTO

Teran Marsell, president of Team Acme in Henderson, Nev., and installer Jamie Browning, also of Acme, both will make the short trip to Las Vegas in early November to compete in the Auto Glass Technician Olympics. This is Browning's second time competing (he first entered in 2006) and Marsell's first.
Right now, both are studying and practicing in preparation for the big day.

"I'm just practicing the rules, holding up with the AGRSS Standard, just trying to do everything absolutely as close to the book as we can," says Marsell.

Browning is using similar methods.

"I am just practicing, studying up on all the literature and basically [doing] anything I can think of to come up that will help," he says.

One of the aspects that encouraged Marsell to enter is actually the down economy, he says.

"When it gets to this point, education and certification and everything else can help you stand out from the rest of the competition," he says.

Browning, 35, has 16 years experience installing glass, and Marsell, 30, has 9 years experience.
