Arizona Glass Association Continues to Fight
State's Auto Glass Fraud Bill
February 12, 2010
The Arizona Glass Association (AGA) is continuing its efforts to
fight a bill currently being reviewed by the state's house that
would target auto glass businesses and would detail several items
related to insurance fraud. (CLICK

"I believe we are gaining ground, but as always we might be
being told what we want to hear," says Kerry Soat, vice president
of the AGA. "Until the bills are gone or greatly amended, I
won't be happy. They never should have been written to begin with
and the other states should keep a sharp eye out for the insurance
companies to try and sneak something past them."
Soat spoke out against the bill, H.B. 2463, at a recent public
hearing. (CLICK

He also prepared a report following that hearing that he has sent
to the legislators on the state's insurance committee.
"As I have clearly stated in the past, the fraudulent practices
addressed in this bill are already against the law," writes
Soat. "Some of the practices listed in this bill are not deserving
of a felony and should be re-addressed."
