UNITED KINGDOM-Auto Windscreens Helps to Raise Thousands for Charity
March 19, 2013

Late last week the employees at UK-based Auto Windscreens swapped out repair calls for Red Nose Day donations for charity, taking in thousands of dollars. The company's employees added $1,512 U.S. dollars to the total through a special on English Channel, which featured fancy dress, cake sales and an auction.

Funds raised will go to Comic Relief, which will spend the money to help the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged people throughout the UK and Africa.

For the cause, Auto Windscreens auctioned off signed boots from new F1 driver Max Chilton, Chesterfield Football Club tickets and a Topflight Autocentre MOT, as well as meals at Casa Hotel, Twin Oaks Hotel and the Shetfield's Double Tree Hilton Hotel.

The company was selected as the official Red Nose Day call center in February and answered more than 1,400 calls. The team was joined by staff from Zenith Insurance and vehicle repair company TCW Group.

"We all had an absolutely fantastic time and I'm proud of everyone for their efforts and for creating such a fun-filled atmosphere," says Claire Church, Auto Windscreens' contact center manager. "All our volunteers did a great job answering as many calls as possible."
