Rick Maciel Named Gold Medalist in Pilkington Clear Advantage Technician Olympics; Jose Llano Prevails in Walt Gorman Memorial Windshield Repair Olympics

The winners of the Pilkington Clear Advantage Technician Olympics (AGTO) and the Walt Gorman Memorial Windshield Repair Olympics (WRO) were named today in Memphis, Tenn., as part of Auto Glass Week™. Rick Maciel of Techna Glass in Taylorsville, Utah, won the top ranking of gold medalist in the AGTO, and Jose Llano of LuniaGlas in Gijon, Spain, took home the gold in the WRO.

Maciel was followed by Travis Crebs, also of Techna Glass, in second and Mark Reza of Glasspro in Mount Pleasant, S.C., in third in the AGTO. In addition, Maciel was recognized with an Innovation Award for use of an innovative glass-setting system.

Antonio Galvez Walqaluna S.L. in Monzon, Huesco, Spain, rounded out the WRO at second, with Chris Smith of Techna Glass in Draper, Utah, following at third.

The winner of the AGTO takes home $10,000 as part of his winnings, and the WRO champion takes home $3,000.

Both awards were announced during a luncheon on the final day of Auto Glass Week.
