Glass America Hires Private Equity Exec as CEO
October 18, 2011
Glass America has hired Michael Barry as chief executive officer (CEO). Barry succeeds David Rohlfing, who recently resigned from his role as president and CEO.
Barry most recently served as president of Prairie Street Capital, a Chicago-based
private equity firm.
He also has served as a senior executive with Copperfield Chimney
Supply Inc., a supplier of proprietary chimney and hearth products;
Intech EDM, an industrial distributor and manufacturer of consumable
materials for Electrical Discharge Machining; and Woodward Inc.,
a patio furniture manufacturer. Barry worked with each of these
companies in a restructuring effort, according to information from
his LinkedIn account, and is a “Certified Turnaround Professional,”
as certified by the Turnaround Management Association.
Barry received his master’s degree in business administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University.
“Glass America possesses strong and innovative leadership to guide the company through this ever-evolving industry,” says John Teeger, chairman of the board of Glass America. “We welcome to the company, Michael Barry, who has the prior successes, experience and talent to enable the company to capitalize on its strong market position in the industry.”
“Glass America is grateful to Rohlfing for his service to the company,” reads a press release issued by Glass America.
