Belron Purchases Mobilglas of Denmark for Approximately $6 Million

Chief executive officer Fred Sorenson confirmed this morning that Belron S.A. has purchased Mobilglas, his Glostrop, Denmark-based company. According to a statement issued by Belron parent company D'Ieteren, the purchase price was approximately $6 million U.S. dollars (4.8 million Euros).

"I can confirm that it's sold," he said in an exclusive interview with glassBYTEs.com™/AGRR magazine this morning. However, he would not comment further on the transaction.

"We also signed an agreement that we cannot divulge anything to the press," added Sorenson.

Sorenson founded the company in 1984 with the assistance of Jacqueline Newman of Austin, Texas. Today, he serves on the Repair of Laminated Auto Glass Standard (ROLAGS) Committee.

At press time, officials from Belron had not yet responded to requests for comments.
