Belron®
Signs Agreements with Franchisees in Finland and Lithuania
June 25, 2009
Belron has announced that it has signed two new franchise agreements
in two new countries-Finland and Lithuania.
In Finland, the company's new franchise agreement was made with
a family, the Niemi family, who owns both a retail business, Tuulilasivarikko,
and a wholesale business. Tuulilasivarikko has six locations in
Helsinki and Turku.
"Over the past few years the insurance market in Finland has
undergone change and with glass insurance coverage level of around
40 percent it is now similar to other Scandinavian countries,"
says Belron chief executive officer Gary Lubner in a memo announcing
the additions. "The main focus for the Niemi family will be
to build a stronger presence in the insurance market as their existing
operations are mainly in the fleet and cash segments."
In Lithuania, the company has penned an agreement with Jurij Koncanin
and his wife, Anja. The Koncanins operate a wholesale business called
Nordglass and an installation business, Euroglass. This company
has three branches located in Vilnius, Kaunas and Kleipeda and will
soon be operating under the Carglass® brand.
"Jurij Koncanin already has a young enthusiastic management
team that will concentrate on introducing Belron best practice standards
into the company and growing the insurance business by developing
key account relationships," adds Lubner.
