Belron® Donates $66,000 to LifeCare Alliance
October 21, 2011

Belron, the parent company of Safelite, has approved a $66,000 World  Conference grant for LifeCare Alliance, an Ohio-based Meals-on-Wheels provider.

The call to assist the group came from Dino Lanno, senior vice president of supply chain and manufacturing for Safelite and an AGRR™ magazine columnist, who has served on the non-profit group’s board since 2010.

The Belron grant will assist LifeCare with providing meals and visits to homebound elderly adults and/or individuals with a disability or chronic illness, according to a company release. The funds will also assist with the group’s more than 20 senior community dining centers and restaurants across the community, providing nutritious meals, socialization, enriching programming and human contact to otherwise socially isolated adults.

“We are so excited and grateful to receive continued support from Safelite AutoGlass and particularly Dino,” says Chuck Gehring, president and CEO of LifeCare Alliance. “Many thanks to Dino who is a stellar volunteer and who has been instrumental in us receiving this grant.”

“I chose to get involved with LifeCare Alliance because of my aging parents and the benefits they received from in-home care,” adds Lanno. “I saw personally the positive impact this agency has on the elderly.”
