Boyle
Steps Down from GlasWeld Presidency
August 5, 2009
Mike Boyle has resigned as president of GlasWeld, according to
a statement issued today by the Bend, Ore.-based company. Boyle,
who has been with GlasWeld for eight years, will be staying on in
a consulting role with the company. Thomas Spoo, one of the original
founders of GlasWeld since the company was established in 1983,
will serve as interim president until additional leadership is hired.
The
company notes that during his tenure, Boyle was instrumental in
guiding the research and development of new glass repair technology,
while raising awareness of the environmental impacts of glass repair.
Additionally, GlasWeld will be expanding its contracting and consulting
services division. This division deploys experts to facilities and
job sites to evaluate and resolve damaged glass issues, while also
providing trained technicians to operate equipment and complete
the repair projects. GlasWeld will also be adding to its online
training modules, including the implementation of a Spanish-language
educational program for glass repair professionals.
Boyle will continue to serve out his term as president of the National
Windshield Repair Association.
Boyle had not responded to requests for comment at press time.
