September 29, 2009

NGA VP of auto glass Leo Cyr announced his retirement during the ROLAGS committee meeting today in Atlanta.

"You've forced my hand," said NGA's vice president for auto glass Leo Cyr, in response to a question about the development of a future standard for damage more than six inches in length during the ROLAGS committee meeting this morning. "I am retiring at the end of December, so I won't be around to finish another standard." Cyr said the auto glass work of the association is going to move to the industry services department, led by David Walker." Cyr said his last day will be December 31.

Cyr has been part of the glass industry since the early 1980s when he first came to work for the National Glass Association as its director of membership. He subsequently worked for a number of glass-related companies including Novus before returning the NGA a few years ago.
