Former Safelite CEO and president John Barlow did not win the post
of Collier County Clerk of Circuit Court in an election yesterday
in Naples, Fla. According to the local newspaper the News-Press,
Barlow was running against the current Clerk of Circuit Court, Dwight
Brock, who ultimately took 66 percent of the vote in the election.
"I'm running for Clerk of Circuit Courts to infuse Collier
County government with private sector principles," read a statement
from Barlow on his campaign website. "During my 40 years in
the private sector I've balanced budgets, increased productivity
and provided superior customer service. That's exactly what I'll
do as Clerk."
Barlow joined Safelite in 1991 and served as chief executive officer
starting in 1997, before his retirement in 2003.
