
Admiral Glass' Jack Farber Passes Away

Jack Farber of Admiral Glass, passed away on March 28 following
a long illness. He was 89.
Farber moved to Southern California from Chicago in the early 1940s
with his wife, Ethel. He enlisted in the Army and served in the
Italian campaign in World War II with the 88th Infantry Division.
He was wounded in Italy and was awarded the Purple Heart.
After the war, he started Admiral Glass in Alhambra, Calif. By the
'70s he had grown the company to an organization of more than 20
glass shops and three glass distribution locations around the state.
Farber served as National Glass Association president from 1976
to 1978, and was instrumental in forming the Auto Glass Committee
for Highway Safety.
Farber is survived by his son Ken, daughters Carol and Laurie, seven
grandchildren and one great grandson.
