Glass Expo Northeast™ Opens Today

Glass Expo Northeast opened today at the Hyatt Regency Long Island Wind Watch Hotel & Golf Club in Long Island (Hauppauge), N.Y. This morning, Bob Beranek of Auto Glass Consultants Inc. in Sun Prairie, Wis., kicked off the seminar portion of the event with a two-hour training session for the Independent Glass Association's (IGA) auto glass certification program; the exam was given afterwards.

In addition, glassBYTEs.com™/AGRR magazine publisher Debra Levy also provided two informative sessions. In one, she updated participants on the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards (AGRSS) Council Inc.'s work on the validation program and how it will affect AGRSS-registered companies; she also spoke about the Consumer Awareness Program the group has undertaken.

Levy also gave a presentation on the latest in the auto glass repair and replacement industries. She touched on the latest legislation, recent changes and more.

In addition, the trade show opened at 3 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. tonight. A welcoming cocktail party is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The event is co-sponsored by AGRR magazine and the Long Island Glass Association.
