 
General Motors Recalls 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
and GMC Terrain for Faulty Windshield Defrosting Systems

General Motors (GM) has issued a recall of its 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
and GMC Terrain for failing to comply with the requirements of Federal
Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 103, "Windshield
Defrosting and Defogging Systems," and with FMVSS No. 101,
"Controls and Displays." According to the recall, issued
via the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA),
the software in the vehicles' center instrument panels can cause
the heating, air conditioning, defrost and radio controls, as well
as the vehicles' panel illumination, to become in operative.
GM dealers will replace the computer module in the center instrument
panel free of charge.
