Hillcrest, Calif., police are looking for the driver of a brown-colored, early 2000s sedan, thought to be a Toyota with Illinois plates, for a hit-and-run Monday night that sent a pedestrian to the hospital. Debris found at the scene of the accident suggests the vehicle is severely damaged, likely with a shattered windshield.
The accident, which occurred around 8:15 p.m. Monday night at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Evans Place in Hillcrest, sent the male pedestrian to Scripps Mercy Hospital with head trauma and a broken arm. Witnesses say the driver knew he hit the pedestrian.
