Honda Recalls Fit for Power Window Issue
February 8, 2010
Honda
has issued a recall for its 2007-2008 Honda Fit due to an issue
with the vehicles' power windows. According to the recall, issued
via the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA)
on January 27, under severe weather conditions, water can enter
the driver's window and reach the master power window switch, which
could damage the switch and cause it to overheat and fail. Likewise,
Honda reports this could also cause a fire.
Honda says its dealers will inspect the switch and install a cover
around its housing to prevent the issue. If the switch already has
been damaged, dealers will replace it and install a cover as well,
free of charge.
