The Joplin, Mo., distribution center, shown here both before (at left) and after the storm (at right) was destroyed by the tornado that swept through the town yesterday.

A tornado ripped through the town of Joplin, Mo., yesterday, destroying Kryger Glass’s distribution center and fleet there, according to a statement from company president Bill Kryger.

“We have lost our distribution center and fleet,” says Kryger. “As of this morning we have been in contact with all employees and they are safe. Our operations out of Joplin have been suspended until further notice and we are working diligently to establish a plan.”

The company’s headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., is about three hours away and was unaffected by the tornado.
“Kryger Glass is a strong company and we will survive this,” adds Kryger. “We ask for our customers’ support and loyalty as we go through this crisis.”
