Wyoming NOVUS Locations Join Together to Support MADD
October 11, 2011
Two NOVUS Glass locations, located in Sheridan and Gillette, Wyo., recently joined together to support their local Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) chapter.
NOVUS technicians repaired rock chips for $20 each in support of the cause, and donated the all of the proceeds to MADD, totaling more than more than $4,200.
Participants in the September 24 event included franchise owners Mark and Greta Pixley, Vanessa and Chad Terrell, technicians from both stores, and a corporate representative from NOVUS.
“We hope that this money will help save lives, especially the lives of the children of our communities,” says Vanessa Terrell. “We encourage everyone to drink responsibly and talk with your children and grandchildren about the dangers involved with alcohol and motor vehicles.”
Preventing drinking and driving is a subject near to the heart of the Pixleys, who lost a 16-year-old relative, Beata Kamran, in 2003 in an alcohol-related car crash. “Putting a stop to our teens and young adults losing their lives to drunk driving accidents is very important to us,” says Mark Pixley. “Beata was a member of our family and we don’t want anyone else to have to experience a loss of someone close to them.”
A variety of local sponsors supported the NOVUS/MADD event with contributions of food, free media and other donations. “We would also like to thank all of our customers, volunteers, technicians and donors for helping to make this event a huge success,” adds Mark Pixley.
