MetLife Rep Speaks to Safelite Switch
MetLife Auto & Home Insurance recently announced that its glass claims administration will now be handled by Safelite Solutions in Columbus, Ohio. LYNX Services previously handled glass claims for the New York-based company. Ted Mitchell, senior public relations specialist for the company, attributes the switch to a competitive bidding process.
"Occasionally, MetLife reviews its existing contacts for competitive bidding, and MetLife Auto & Home's national glass program recently came up for bid," Mitchell says. "After an exhaustive review of our business options, we ended up awarding the contract to Safelite, and anticipate providing our customers with the same high level of customer service that they have come to expect from MetLife Auto & Home."
Mitchell was not able to comment on specifics of the bidding, citing a confidential bidding process.
LYNX Services vice president of strategic initiatives Chris Umble declined to comment on the MetLife change.
