 
Miles Driven Increases Overall in November

The Federal Highway Administration (FHA), a division of the U.S.
Department of Transportation, has released the newest numbers for
miles driven in November 2012, showing a small increase of 0.8 percent,
or a 1.9 billion increase in miles driven over November 2011.
Overall travel for the month is estimated to be around 238.8 billion
vehicle miles, according to the report. Cumulative travel for 2012
has also increased by 16.7 billion vehicle miles, or 0.6 percent.
So far, the cumulative estimate for the year for is 2,702.9 billion
vehicle miles.
Regionally, travel is also up. With the exception of the North-East
region (down -0.9 percent) all regions have seen an increase in
miles driven. Most notably, the South-Gulf saw a boost of 2.2 percent.
These numbers reflect the upward trend seen in October's
numbers.
