First-Time AGTO Competitor Looks Forward to Education,
Fun, at AGTO
Ed
Monzin of M&M Auto Glass Service will travel to Las Vegas this November
to compete for the first time in the Fourth Annual Auto Glass Technician
Olympics (AGTO).
"I hope it's a good time and I hope everyone learns something,"
says Monzin, who chose to compete this year after reading about the competition
in previous years in AGRR magazine, which co-sponsors the event with the
Independent Glass Association (IGA).
"I've been reading about it and decided I wanted to go try it out,"
he adds.
As for what he's doing to prepare, Monzin says, "I install auto glass
every day."
In addition, he's reviewing the AGTO rules and regulations.
Though Monzin expects the competition to be fun and educational, he also
hopes it's educational for the public.
"I hope to promote public awareness," he says. "It's a
good chance to let people know windshields can't be installed improperly."
Monzin has 14 years experience and resides in Midlothian, Ill., with his
wife, Sherie.
In his spare time, he enjoys billiards and autocross racing.
