Spring 2010 NAGS Calculator Published; Shows 2 Percent Drop in Weighted
Average of All Parts
May 3, 2010
The 2010 Spring Benchmark calculator from National Auto Glass Specifications
International (NAGS) has been released, and the latest calculator
shows 2 percent decrease in the weighted average of all parts from
the previous calculator, released in January of this year. The new
calculator takes effect one week from today-on May 10, 2010.
The calculator displays a weighted average of $246.64 for all parts,
compared with $251.71 in Winter 2010. To calculate the weighted
average, NAGS weighs parts according to popularity (i.e., more popular
parts have a higher weight than those used less frequently used,
in an effort to achieve a more accurate average than a blanket,
overall average might show).
Among the top 100 parts, the calculator shows a 1.04 percent drop
in price-from a weighted average of $209.35 in the winter calculator
to $207.16 in the spring edition.
When a weighted average was calculated for the top 500 parts, a
1.66 percent drop occurred-from $225.14 to $221.40.
