Several representatives of National Mobile Windscreens recently
participated in a 66-mile marathon charity walk to support the Meningitis
Research Foundation (MRF), and ultimately donated nearly $8,000
(USD) (5,000 British pounds) to the cause.
The walk lasted five days and ran from Redditch in Worcestershire,
United Kingdom, to the MRF headquarters at Thornbury near Bristol,
United Kingdom. The walk organized as part of the National Mobile
Windscreens 40th anniversary celebration. Employees received donations
totaling approximately $4,000 (USD) (2,500 British pounds), which
was matched by the company in support of the charity.
The walk was begun by managing director Phil Lomas with other managers
and staff, while founder and chairman George Douglas joined the
team on the final day.
