NSG Group and Saint-Gobain Pursue Joint Expansion
November 29, 2010
NSG Group and Saint-Gobain have announced plans to build a new
float glass plant in Bahia State, in northeastern Brazil. The new
facility will be the sixth float line owned by Cebrace Cristal Plano
Ltda, a joint venture between NSG Group and Saint-Gobain Glass in
Brazil. The companies say the project will enable Cebrace to serve
its customers more effectively in this region.
The plant will be capable of producing 600 tons of glass a day
to supply the Brazilian automotive and construction markets. It
is scheduled to come on stream in the first quarter of 2013.
NSG announced earlier this month that it would expand
its Pilkington Automotive operations in Brazil.
