NWRA Surveys Members about Inspections

The National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) is surveying
its members about the inspection programs that many insurers are
now conducting for windshield repair claims.
"NWRA is going to access both the impact and fairness of these
inspections as well as any restraint-of-trade implications,"
says Rich Campfield, NWRA president.
"We have noticed that repairs are halted by being called-out
for inspection and then the inspection never happens," he adds.
He says the NWRA plans to quantify which companies are doing the
inspections, as well as assess consumer inconvenience. NWRA also
plans to determine and what criteria are used to trigger inspections
prior to repair authorization.
"Is this just another steering tactic," he adds. "Are
only non-participants (non unaffiliated network members) subject
to inspections?"
