Three $50,000 Fines Levied in NASCAR Arena Due to “Thin Windshields”
October 27, 2011

NASCAR has issued $50,000 penalties to three teams whose vehicles were found to have modified windshields during inspections at an event at Talladega Superspeedway.

The cars of the three teams, No. 00, No. 47 and No. 56, were found to be in violation of several NASCAR rules, including one that prohibits “unapproved modification to an approved windshield.”

Specifics about the windshields have not been released, except to say that they were found to be “too thin.”
