NordGlass Signs On as Platinum Sponsor of Auto
Glass Week
April 11, 2013
NordGlass's Steve Skorupa says his company signed on as the Platinum
Sponsor of Auto Glass Week because he sees the importance
of an industry event that allows auto glass professionals to come
together to network and learn more about new suppliers and products.
The NordGlass Auto Glass Technician Olympics are a part of this
year's event, which will be held September 18-20 at the Tampa Convention
Center.
"NordGlass wants to show the automotive windshield replacement
market in North America that we are excited about providing OEM
quality products and service to its customers long into the future,"
says Skorupa, director of sales and distribution, USA, for NordGlass.
"We want to keep introducing the NordGlass brand to be recognized
as a high quality manufacturer and supplier that our customers can
rely on," he adds.
NordGlass was founded in 1991 and has two plants within Poland.
Construction on its production factory in Koszalin began in 1996
and finished in 2000. The other plant, located in Slupsk, was constructed
in 2006.
The company produces glass panes for more than 1,200 of the most
popular types of vehicles in Europe.
Skorupa believes Auto Glass Week is important because it
is "a great venue for new and current suppliers to show off
new products and services. Auto Glass Week brings the industry
together, allowing for networking, relationship building and the
introduction of new suppliers and products.
"We are all very busy throughout the year and Auto Glass Week
allows for the industry to come together to build their business
and have some fun," he adds.
Officials from the company will share a display of products and
manufacturing technologies at booth 200 during the event.
"We will have representatives from Europe in our booth stressing
our commitment to the North American market. We will also have technicians
competing in the NordGlass Auto Glass Technician Olympics,"
Skorupa says.
Now in its eighth year, the NordGlass Auto Glass Technician Olympics
provides the opportunity for technicians from around the world to
compete to properly replace a windshield. Industry veterans judge
the competitors' replacements as well as their procedures, safety,
cleanliness and customer interaction.
It is also a chance to learn from other professionals, execute
safe, quality installations, pick up innovative techniques and,
of course, compete for the chance to hold the title of "World's
Best Auto Glass Technician."
The first-place winner will receive $10,000, a gold medal and trophy,
as well as bragging rights as the "World's Best Auto Glass
Technician." Second place will receive $1,000 as well as a
silver medal, and third place will receive $500 and a bronze medal.
