Presents Annual Automotive Glass Design Awards
Pittsburgh-based PPG Industries has awarded its annual PPG Design
Challenge Awards for 2007 to students at Detroit's College for Creative
Studies.
The awards were as follows:

First place and a $1,500 scholarship were
awarded by PPG Industries to Ludwin O. Cruz, 20, of Pembroke
Pines, Fla., in the PPG Design Challenge for 2007 for this concept
of an asymmetrical car half made of laminated glass. |

Second place was awarded by PPG Industries
to Woo Sung Lee, 26, of Seoul, South Korea, in the PPG Design
Challenge for 2007 for this concept of a vehicle with honeycomb-shaped
glass that filters air to keep passengers comfortable. Lee received
a $1,000 scholarship for this concept of a vehicle combining
sport utility functionality with sports car styling on a truck
base. |

A $500 scholarship for third place was awarded
by PPG Industries to Andrew Ho, 21, of Toronto, in the PPG Design
Challenge for 2007 for this concept of a crossover vehicle with
an electrochromic glass roof and front glass informational display. |
