PGW Plant in Berea, Ky., Damaged in “Incident”
October 3, 2011

A Pittsburgh Glass Works (PGW) fabrication plant in Berea, Ky., experienced what local reports are calling “a small explosion” on Saturday, October 2.

PGW spokesperson Robert McCullough confirmed that “there was some sort of incident” at the plant, but declined to provide details.

A local paper said part of the building’s roof was damaged, and that the “explosion” was caused by “a glitch in the venting process at the plant.”

McCullough said customers should not see any delays due to the incident.

“There’s no interruption with product,” said McCullough, who added that no injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.
