Rapid Glass Opts for Fuel Efficient Vans
June 5, 2012
Minneapolis, Minn.-based windshield repair and replacement company Rapid Glass has replaced all mobile units with new, more fuel efficient vans. The new Ford Transit Connect vans are part of Rapid Glass’ plan to be a more energy efficient company.
“We previously purchased Chevy Astro vans as a cost effective, fuel efficient alternative to the full sized vehicles, but General Motors stopped production after the 2005 model year. It was shortly thereafter that we began looking for a new midsize alternative,” says Rick Rosar, president of Rapid Glass.“This is the vehicle is what we have been waiting for. It is fuel efficient, has great cargo clearance for transporting taller windshields, short enough to maneuver in traffic, fit into smaller areas for parking and the front wheel drive is great for added safety on slippery roads during our harsh Minnesota winters. What we save in fuel costs covers the payments on a brand new truck. The added bonus of reducing our emissions and providing a greener environment for future generations is something we are very proud of.”
