Safelite Works with Ohio Tourism Division to Distribute Coupon Books
Safelite Auto Glass in Columbus, Ohio, is working with the Ohio Tourism Division to distribute coupon books to its customers throughout the state.
"We're going to work with Safelite through the Ohio travel industry members and they'll be putting together a coupon book," says Tamara Brown, public relations manager for the Ohio Department of Development. "We put out a call to travel industry members, such hotels, restaurants and attractions, to put together their ideas for money-saving coupons and we'll put those together and forward to the folks at Safelite, and they'll pick the best ones for their customers.
"We'll then put together a coupon book, and the Safelite folks will hand them out to their customers," she adds.
As for how Safelite became involved in the program, Brown says the department and Safelite are both clients of the same advertising agency, Ron Foth Advertising in Columbus.
"At the Ohio Tourism Division, we've been looking for partnerships
along these lines with Ohio-based companies where we can come together
and create some kind of sensible partnership to the benefit of both organizations,"
Brown says. "It's a nice benefit for Safelite and [its] customers,
and travel industry members receive a benefit as well."
"I'm not sure if there's a fee, [though] I know there will be printing costs," she says. "I don't have the details [on that]."
According to an informational sheet provided by the state, travel industry member companies who are featured in the coupon book will pay $100 each toward printing costs.
As for the book itself, Brown wasn't sure what it would like or say with regard to Safelite's involvement in its development.
"Typically I would think it would be a co-branded piece, but I have not yet seen anything," she says.
