Pa.
June 18, 2009
Safelite AutoGlass®/Diamond Triumph Glass has opened
a new supercenter in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pa., area.
The new facility 44,800 square feet, and will serve as the home
base for 95 associates. Company officials say the facility will
serve more than 60,000 customers each year in Northeast Pennsylvania
and Central New York, including Syracuse, Watertown and Bighamton.
The warehouse holds more than 7,000 windshields and body glass parts
for Safelite AutoGlass/Diamond Triumph Glass retail operations and
wholesale fulfillment under the Service Auto Glass name.
"A year ago Diamond Triumph Glass was acquired by Belron US
(parent company of Safelite AutoGlass® and now also Diamond
Triumph Glass)," says Brett Decker, general manager of the
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre facility. "At that time Belron expressed
a commitment to the Northeast Pennsylvania area and with the new
supercenter we're able to maintain our presence in the community
and retain many associates."
The company had announced last year it would close Diamond's distribution
center in Kingston, Pa., and would be re-locating. The facility
in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre was located in December. (CLICK
