Associations Meet in San Diego
March 1, 2013
The boards of directors of both the Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC)
and the National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) held their
semi-annual meetings in San Diego this week. A number of AGSC committees,
including the AGSC AGRSS Standards Committee, also met.
AGSC elected two new members to its board of directors. Keith Beveridge
of Novus Inc. and Mike Schenian of City Auto Glass, both in Minneapolis,
were each elected to three-year terms. "We are thrilled to have
both Keith and Mike joining the board," said AGSC president Debra
Levy. "They each bring deep knowledge of the industry, many years
of experience and a strong commitment to safety to their new roles."
A record number of new registered companies and AGSC-certified
technicians were also reported.
The NWRA focused on the issue of unnecessary repairs i.e., repairs
that are not necessary under the Repair of Laminated Auto Glass
Standard (ROLAGS)™. "NWRA members are committed to doing proper
repairs," said association president Rich Campfield. "This is a
serious problem that gives the whole industry a bad reputation."
Both groups will next meet during Auto Glass Week in Tampa, Fla.,
September 18-20, 2013.
