Talbert to Leave Pittsburgh Glass Works

glassBYTEs.com™/AGRR magazine has learned that Marc Talbert, vice president and general manager of Pittsburgh Glass Works' (PGW) ARG business unit, is leaving the company. Talbert had taken over this position in April, when the company laid off several employees and re-structured much of its management and marketing operations (CLICK HERE for related story).

Talbert, who had been responsible for all aftermarket glass operations, had not responded to requests for comment at press time, but sources have advised glassBYTEs.com™/AGRR magazine he will be leaving the company in mid-November.

Sources say Gary Eilers, vice president and general manager of the company's services business, which includes LYNX Services, the Prostars Alliance Network and the GTS/Glaxis operations, will be taking over Talbert's responsibilities until someone new is hired to handle this role.

Talbert has held a variety of positions with the company, and had served as president of PPG Auto Glass before Kohlberg & Co. purchased a majority of PPG's auto glass assets in 2008, and it was re-named Pittsburgh Glass Works. He also served as vice president of PPG Auto Glass's western region.

According to information from Spoke.com, Talbert started with PPG in 1980, and joined the auto replacement glass business in 1994 as Dallas market manager. A year later, he became manager of the company's western region, and in October 2000, was named regional vice president - western region, prior to becoming president of the auto glass division in 2003.
