Tanner Competes for First Time

Tanner Terrell, master installer for Northwest Windshields in Astoria, Ore., will compete in this year's Auto Glass Technician Olympics (AGTO) for the first time. Terrell, 24, says he planned to compete in 2007, but missed the deadline for registration.

"This year I decided I was going to make the deadline," Terrell says.

Right now, he's focusing on engraining the steps in his mind.

"I've just been practicing the same thing over and over again so I'm not lost in concentration while I'm trying to do the job," says Terrell, who's been installing glass for seven years.

Terrell has three children, Adrianna, Kyla and MaLeena. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, snowboarding and camping.
