Contestant Close Ups: Ted Chandler, Carl Hirte and Steve Partch

AGRR magazine and the daily email newsletter are marking the days until the Auto Glass Technician Olympics by introducing this year's competitor field with a daily contestant profile.

City Auto Glass of South St. Paul, Minn., is sending three installers to represent the AGRSS-registered company.

Ted Chandler is one of the three from City Auto Glass competing and he will flex his 14 years of experience in the industry at the competition, hoping to bring home a new title to his employer and hometown.

Chandler, a father of three, enjoys hunting in his spare time.

Carl Hirte brings 20 years of experience in the industry to the Auto Glass Technician Olympics where he will take on 28 other competitors vying for the title of "World's Best Auto Glass Technician."

Married with two children, Hirte enjoys the outdoors, fishing, hunting, golfing and camping.

Steve Partch will also compete for the title of "World's Best Auto Glass Technician" alongside his coworkers.

Partch, married with five kids, brings 18 ½ years of experience to the competition. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and camping.

All three will be using SIKA brand adhesives at the competition.

The Auto Glass Technician Olympics, now in its second year, is co-sponsored by the Independent Glass Association (IGA) and AGRR magazine.

The events will be held November 1-4, 2006 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
